Don't know if you've noticed or if anyone has told you but the tabs under the rear lite really isn't a great place for a plate. I'm surprised you don't see more plated laying around on the road. These are made from "junk plastic" (my term) and are very fragile. The longer it sits in the sun the sooner it gets hard and brittle and can break from just wigglin' around.
I wouldn't attach a plate to a NEW unit in this location.

There is an existing, working, light and bracket in that location. Many people do not like multiple holes in the skin of their vehicle.

Sure the tabs are a POS but the location is very logical.

Sorry Mick, maybe we both were missing the others point. My point was that the plastic is quite often a bad mix and is damaged by sunlight and often breaks for that reason. Didn't mean the 'position' was a bad place.
In that context, I missed your intent also. Again, sorry.
