BT TPMS question.

Do you guys find that you need the booster that comes with these systems for TT's under 30ft?
If not, which ones are you using?
Trying to order a set now and it seems some need boosters and some don't.

Our TPMS system came with a booster but I never hooked it up. Our trailer is a 40ft 5th wheel and the truck is a F350 DRW, so total distance from wheels to our truck dash is probably 30ft or more. System works fine with no issues.

Ditto Gsykora!!.............F350 Crew Cab DRW long bed towing a 41 ft fifth wheel trailer with a TPMS signal booster. You can try it without and see if it works for you.

I used the "Tire Minder" TPMS due to it's reputation. I tried it without the booster and got a good reading but figured "what the heck" and went ahead and mounted the booster anyway. I've been very happy to have a TPMS as we had a "flat" which I would not have known if I did not have a TPMS; we have dual axles so the other three tires were supporting the TT which continued to pull correctly with no indication of the flat.

I have no booster on my 30 ft 2600 RB and I get a good signal.
Takes a few minutes to register all the tires, but by the time I'm hooked up they all read fine.

Tire Minder i10 RV needs the booster

Installed my i10 RV but only thought I connected the booster to 12v source. First trip, the display lost signal in the first hour of travel. When I investigated and connected to a valid 12v source, it worked well the entire trip.

26' TT behind a Tundra Crewmax.

I have a 42' coach and did not install the booster. On my old 40' coach I towed a 20' trailer with the TPMS on coach and trailer without a booster.

"Some need boosters and some don't" - you've got it exactly right.
For years I used the TST 507. TST's manual said that I'd only need a booster if there were difficulties with the signal - there weren't, so I never used a booster.
I wanted a different style display and Tire Minder had what I wanted, so I bought theirs. It comes with a booster, in the manual they strongly recommend using the booster regardless of length of the RV, so I hooked it up. Maybe it would work fine without it, but hooking it up was not an issue, so I followed the mfg's suggestion.

I had a different reason for using the booster though TST stated that it was optional for my length of TT (26'). I have the TPMS to warn me of an issue. The booster was not expensive. I put one on because it was a simple thing to do that provided something "extra." On the day I had my blowout I was just thankful that I got the signal immediately and was able to minimize the damage to the TT. If the booster helped, awesome, if not, I would never know.

We have the TST which came with a booster. Didn't install it as it is only a 23 footer. Did install the booster after I could not pick up the signal from the house due to distance from the rv port. Now I can monitor the tires at home or on the road. The booster is mounted to the cover of the propane tank shroud and is on at all times.

Turned on the TPMS in my truck parked across the street yesterday to check truck and trailer tire pressure and temperature and it worked fine with the booster. I could have disabled the booster to see if I got a signal from the trailer but is reassuring, I could check the trailer tire pressure that far away with the booster BEFORE hooking up and leaving the campsite.

I personally use a booster. It was inexpensive and makes me feel good. I also have a LOT of metal in this rig as you can see from my picture. Wired it into the light in the front closet.
