Buying a used Rockwood Roo 19 - Bunk Plywood Replacement
We want to purchase a 2019 Forest River Rockwood Roo 19M. But water obviously got in the bunk ends and the plywood is squishy in places. Does anyone know if the replacement of the plywood (which I assume involves the removal of the canvas) is a costly thing? Thanks for any responses.

Costly if you have a shop replace it.
2019 is relatively new.Who every had before did not take care of it.
Don't know what the price is but I would look for something else.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We’re sure glad you joined the gang here!
I'm assuming you're referring to the roof. You mention canvas. Does the roof not have EDPM (rubber) roof?
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I think what the OP is referring to, is the ROO has the slide out bed like a pop-up trailer.
I believe the OP may be talking about the plywood for the bed?

I'm not sure I can help. But I had to replace the floor of my slide out on my camper. It was not hard to get the floor out by cutting it out in pieces with a portable circular saw. I replaced it with a piece of 3/4" marine grade plywood that I coated with primer then covered with flex seal. Installed and coated it again. It was difficult to get it into the track that the wall attached to . But pounded it in with a wooden mallet. So I would say that you can do It.
That said. Unless you are getting a great price. I would pass and keep looking.

I have similar tent ends (mine are in good shape). You would need to replace the whole platform as I don't think that replacing just a chunk say near the hinge would be strong enough to support the weight. The tent part is screwed to the inside surface of the panel. I don't think you would need to mess with any of the tent stuff attached to the trailer side.
That fold down bed panel is laminated. I don't know how you would delaminate the outside skin.
The whole panel may be available from FR.

FWIW, if one is asking such general questions regarding a major RV repair, one does not have the skill set to do such repairs. Don’t buy someone else’s headache regardless of the good price, move on to a better unit! Cheers!…

I've never seen a trailer with those fold/pull/pop out beds up close but just looking at them from afar, it looks like it would be tough keeping water from getting in around them. Would never consider one myself but I guess being able to sleep a lot of people is what they're good at.
On the unit the OP's looking at that's already damaged, nope!

Op is referring to a Hybrid trailer, with canvas flip out ends similar to a popup for sleeping. This would be a good DIY project but if you have no skills and have to pay someone, keep on looking.
Also be aware that in many areas with active bear populations, hybrids are not allowed.

Check and see what forest River wants for them. That is probably the best repair.
