Campers Inn peace of mind
hey all, just wondering if anyone has had any feelings toward the campers inn peace of mind package... is it just a thousand dollar fee for 20 bucks in propane or is it actually worth it?
about to purchase a winnie 2100BH...
Thanks!!!

sure thing, I just found a flier of what they are talking about... it should be attached?
so they offer this as a upcharge to buying the camper, but to me, some of those should be things they already do, like a fresh battery, inspection... should be included.

I wouldn't waste my money on this, every camper I bought came with a battery, full propane tanks, most people will still have to take it back to get things fixed under warranty no matter how many times they say they will inspected it, really need to learn to fix things so your camper doesn't sit in service for weeks or months, the "complimentary membership to a major campground network" is not complimentary, try to ask them if you can still have that if you don't buy the package, I am getting you don't get it and more than likely you will find your self not able to use it that much. I would not buy a camper from a dealership that didn't give me a battery and propane. Save your money and put it in an account for stuff like batteries, propane, camping fees and fixing the little things, you will find that money will benefit and last you a lot longer putting it in an account than giving it to a dealer for doing nothing.

They owe you all of the pre-delivery stuff as a result of your purchase. The rest is just fluff.

Are you talking about a new or used unit sold thru the Campers Inn network of dealers?

I wouldn't buy any extended warranty or inspection from the dealer. They are actually required by the MFG to perform certain maintenance and inspections while they have the RV on their lot and at the time of sale. I also think they have to supply a battery from legal of view because of the emergency brakes. The only thing I can think of that I might be interested in from the dealer is if they gave me a credit for the POS battery the trailer came with to upgrade to a group 29 or 31 AGM battery. Even then you have to know that the upgrade price from the dealer is reasonable.
Here is my warranty story. I bought a new 2015 TT in Feb 2018. Some BS story about going back the the MFG for replacement decals. When buying my TT the dealer tried to sell me an extended warranty that would extend the MFG warranty. I said no thanks. 6 months later, I brought my TT in for some minor repairs. Service Manager "You know you bought a 3 year old trailer, right", Me "You Know I have a one year warranty, right". End of conversation.
I can't think of a single thing I would ever take the TT back to the dealer again. I suppose if there was a major structural issue while it was under warranty, maybe. Every other thing I'd just do myself. For example, when the Fridge stopped working on shore power, I dedugged it and fixed it myself. Turns out the dealer or MFG left the condensation drain in the compartment and it dripped on the AC side, shorted it out, and blew the fuse. I replaced the fuse and moved the drain to the outside, like it supposed to be. Been working great ever since. Every conservation I have with a dealer has just resulted in frustration and all except the first warranty items have ended with "never mind, I'll do it myself".
Oh yeah, I got free one year of thousand trails. Seemed complementary or at least I couldn't decline it. I did not use it once. A friend used his a few times and was going give up, but found one campground he liked that gave him the discount.

Typical dealership ploy to get you to pay extra for what they are required to do anyway. If selling new, many manufacturers actually pay the selling dealership to "prep" the RV before sale anyway, so this way, they can get paid TWICE for the same work!
You've got to consider, if the VISIBLE stuff from the dealership is slimy, than what will the stuff you don't see now be like? Like warranty service, etc.
If it were me, I'd not only refuse it, but I'd do more shopping and try and find another dealership . . .
