Can't identify aluminum tube thing in used trailer.

Anyone know what this thing is? It was in the underneath storage of used trailer I just bought. Small part slides into tube and threads in.

Welcome to iRV2.

Found in an area where it could easily have been overlooked by a previous owner when he was clearing out , I doubt it's RV related.

BTW: I worked at a dealership that sold RVs and I was in charge of recertifying the propane systems , going through used RVs checking for leaks and testing appliance operations , you wouldn't believe the stuff that turns up.

EDIT: I have to ask what app you're using to post photos to the site ; I was unable to get a larger version of the photo .

Is there a roughly 0.30" hole all the way though and 1/2 x28 threads on one end?

Is there a name and or serial number on it?

It strongly resembles something you do not want to have in your possession unless properly registered.

I second that analysis.. at a minimum I'd say it's no part of any 'Filter' or 'trap' system on your new trailer..

Especially if it's ruined by having a hole through it's axial center.. I'd destroy it.

It's about 1 5/8" diameter and 9 1/2" length assembled. The inner piece has a 1/4" hole in the baffle looking end and a 3/4" hole in the threaded end. When assembled there are no exposed threads in either end. I reduced photo to small, low res for easy upload.

It was a framulated blivet extractor. They are quite rare and worth somewhere north of 87 gazillion gazoonies in mint condition. Too bad you trashed it.

Not enough details to verify what I think it is.

It is a muffler, but not for a car. Search the term "monocore baffles" and you will see some options.
