Cargo - Where to haul

If youíre hauling extra cargo is it better to haul it in the tt or the truck bed, or does it matter?

You have to know your existing weight distribution and where you can handle more weight .

Adding weight in the truck box or in the trailer , will increase the load on the truck rear axle , do you have any scale weights from your truck with trailer , loaded for travel ?
Can you handle any more weight ?

What they said. Correct answer is: it depends.......on your tow vehicles specs, GVWR and payload, trailer payload and distribution of weight. In VERY general terms, it's best to put weight in the truck (without exceeding GVWR) and if you put it in the trailer, it's better to put it forward of the axles to avoid reducing tongue weight which can cause instability and sway.

Really depends on how much weight you are talking about and how much leeway your TV and trailer have.
In my case, 100# would have a negligible effect anywhere.
I have about a 600# cushion for the truck and 1000# for the trailer when loaded for a trip.

Great suggest weighing your tow vehicle and trailer loaded at either a local moving company or CAT scale to confirm you are a safe margin under their load carrying capacity.
