Chocks Question
Next Saturday (if all goes well), we will be picking up our new TT. Our current one is a single-axle while the new one is a dual-axle.
I understand the use of X-Chocks for stabilization, but will those also suffice INSTEAD of standard wheel chocks? Should I use both or will an X-Chock on each side be safe?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but this will be our 1st dual-axle and only our second trailer......in one year of RV'ing. Still somewhat newbies.
Thanks.

You can never use too big or too many chocks for any vehicle....
I would rather be the guy using talks on every wheel then the guy chasing his RV down the road.
I saw a couple with a fifth wheel in a campground use x chocks on one side only. They used some blocking underneath their jacks. I was going to say something as they disconnected but they didn't want any advice. After they stopped the RV from moving the wife went home to sleep in her own bed.

I use two BAL X-Chocks plus 4 of the Camco yellow angled ground chocks. The RV wont move unless I want it to plus the X-Chocks help reduce the RV 'wiggle' while parked

The recommendation for wheel chocks is that their height be approximately 1/4 the overall height of the tire. Too small of a wheel chock is not effective when you really need it. Getting the proper size wheel chock is not that difficult, and will greatly enhance the safety.
We've got 10" tall wheel chocks for our 41" tires. Obviously yours are going to be smaller, but take care to get the proper size.

we just got a pair of the x chocks, the steel ones and I really like them. I think if your not on a steep incline they are all you would need, on both sides. I also noticed the T/T was a lot more stable. most tire chocks if not dug in properly will just slide especially on most fine graveled camping sites. the x chocks are easy to use just stick them in-between the tires and ratchet them tight and you done.

Have a 34' 14K 5th wheel
7 yrs FTng and all I ever used was a set of X-Chocks -- 1 ea side
Slap them between the tires, snitch up TIGHT..........then recheck next AM for tightness
Between the tires stops the back/forth movement
Can place them even when tires are elevated on blocks
And when tight you will know you forgot to remove them when you first try to drive off

The instructions specifically state not to use them as wheel chocks. I got some hard rubber chocks from Harbor Freight.

If they aren't for locking your wheels then what would they be for

I recently bought a pair of https://www.beech-lane.com/camper-levelers. Best thing since US made ST tires.
I also use an X chock on the opposite side.

I've been using X-Chocks and Andersen levelers since I've been living in my trailer. Even on very off level ground, they haven't let the trailer move.

I use both. The X Chocks are for stabilization not anti roll (says in the paperwork). I have plastic blocks. I was skeptical about them until the trailer shifted hooking it up. Couldn't budge the chock till I backed it up an inch. Still like the look of the hard rubber ones more...

And the instructions are correct. I had a pair that just folded. They are definitely not "chocks".

I've been using these for a while - heavy but solid.

Thanks to this thread I just got delivery of the x-chocks and the trailer is now rock solid!
