Couple travel trailers

Help, looking for our first travel trailer. We thought it would be a 180 R Pod but are now having second thoughts. Looking at Jayco 23Rl and 23RLSW. Also Keystone Passport Ultra lite and Keystone Hideout. Any owners pro's and con's would be welcome. Thanks:

What vehicle are you going to pull it with?

Biggest downside to R-Pods is the wet bath in some models and the sideways bed or dinette that makes into a bed. Other than that they are pretty slick RV's if they fit your needs.
The DW and I could never get used to a sideways bed.
The 23RLSW would be my choice of the two.

Smallest trailer with a walk-around queen bed. Others have the crosswise 'gaucho' bed. As you and your partner age, it gets to be quite the gymnastic event to 'roll' over your mate to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Just sayin;

We have the predecessor to the Minnie, our Sunnybrook Harmony. Find one if you can, great trailers!

Those Retro trailers are cute, but I think you would want to look twice at any company that put 14" tires on a 30' fifth wheel.

I believe they are looking at bumper pulls, but you are correct, 14" wheels may be an issue...then again I have pulled many stepdeck semi trailers with 14" tires.... tires go 'round & 'round really fast @ 65mph...

We had a Riverside 17 we traded for our Colemal 2305QB. The Riverside was cute on the outside and easy to pull. It had a queen walk around bed which is what sold us. Unfortunately, it also had a wet bath which we learned to loathe. And the shape limits room even for the shorter people so only one person could move around. The other had to be in bed or in the cramped dinette. And if you were in the corner you had to move the table in order to get up.

The Coleman has plenty of room. A regular queen size bed in front that can be closed off from the living area, a large rear bath, and plenty of room to move around. It isn't perfect by any means and I'm sure there are better built "nicer" units out there. But for my money it suits our needs. We're heading out this weekend with forecast lows in the upper 20's to low 30's and looking forward to it:-)

Find a floorplan that you like from a dealer you trust at a price you want to pay. Figure on replacing the mattress or at least a topper and a dozen other little necessities no matter what you buy.

After much research we went with a Jayco White Hawk 24RKS. Great layout and the quality appears to be a step up

Nice choice. Just one thing to think about. The flip out sofa is not replaceable with standard furniture. It's not actually built like a home sofa. It is sitting up on the slide out floor. Make sure it's really comfortable if you plan on sitting in it for a few hrs at a time.

Bought a 2016 Jayco 23RLSW new. Great layout for us 2.

We didn't need the jack knife sofa for extra sleeping, so I removed it and replaced it with a loveseat recliner I bought at a furniture store.

The jack knife sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on. With this floorplan extra mod's were needed to do this.

The 30 amp electrical cord stored in a box built under the sofa. I had to remove the box and convert the 30 amp cord to a detachable type.

At the same time I added a Progressive Industries 30 amp energy management system behind the sofa.

The only negative I see with the floorplan is a lack of clothes storage. But the layout of the unit, the ability to watch TV comfortably and it's light weight over rode that.

I think Jayco products still have a 2 year warranty vs. 1 year with a lot of other brands.

I've made numerous mod's and continue to do minor add on's as I see fit.

DW and I are very pleased with out Flagstaff 21FBRS. Walk around queen, comfy enough couch, nice kitchen setup, big enough bath. Only comesinat 5,000 loaded up and pulls nicely behind our Jeep Grand Cherokee

We are very happy with our Outdoors RV Creekside 23RKS. We think the floorplan in our year model is better than the current new models, but that's just us.
