Covering During Storage?
I just purchased a Lance 1575 and was wondering what folks thought about covering the trailer and tires during winter storage. This will be parked outside during the Montana winter. If you DO recommend a cover please let me know what brand/type worked best for you. Thanks

Tire covers, an absolute must year round.
Any time I am parked for more the 3 days, the covers go on.
I had an Adco cover for my last RV and it was good, however, when I tried to remove it in January to head south, it was a real pain.
I also have one for my "black" motorcycle trailer and after removing it this Spring the sides were scuffed.
I will not cover the trailer anymore.
You may also want to look at getting windshield wiper covers $20.00 and save the rubber from UV rays and a hot windshield.

We have covered storage for our Lance 1995, then during the winter we put on a Calmark cover. Very good quality, and fit. They custom build them for your trailer, and they know Lance trailers.

We use an ADCO All-Climate Wind Designer-series Tyvek cover over the winter months. Have gone through 3 winters with it and it's still holding up quite well. It is important to make sure that you blunt any sharp objects such as the rain gutters and that you have a snug fit to reduce movement. We've not had any issues with scratches. Tires are always covered when stored regardless of season.

I don't cover mine in NE. Ohio. I do cover the tires any time there parked at home. I'm not against covering an RV, but if you do, make sure it is kept secure and not flapping in the wind. When I "used to" park may RV trailer at a storage facility I would see other RV covers getting torn up and flapping in the wind scratching the side walls up.
Uncovered we keep the roof vents open some, and I'll check on it monthly inside. If we get a warmer day with a push broom I knock any snow accumulation I can reach by the gutters or front cap.
With a cover I don't know how you would keep from breaking off the corner gutter extensions. Ours stick out 3" on all 4 corners...

I do not cover our trailer, but I DO cover the tires always at home, we store it on our property. I have a MaxAir fan that runs when it's stored pulling air in the bathroom vent and then out to keep the trailer ventilated in the summer. Always keep the bathroom vent open, it's covered.

When in storage for the winter , I cover mine with a large poly tarp and tie it down so the wind won't move it. The roof vents are left open. The tarp makes snow removal very easy .
