Crack in kitchen sink

Just noticed a crack in my kitchen sink. The sink looks like some type of plastic but not sure what it’s made of. It does leak so I have to do something.

Anyone know what it might be made?

Any suggestions on how I can do a quick fix?

Might be difficult to patch if the crack is in the drain.

If its on the side you could try some quick drying JB Weld on the under side.

Best to replace it.

If you want to keep the sink, at our dealership, we would get some JB plastic weld and seal the OUTSIDE of the sink. Press the weld into the crack with a putty knife. For extra strength and holding power, you could work fiberglass cloth into the epoxy. Make sure you clean the area and rough it up with coarse sandpaper before you start.

How wide is the crack? Do you need to fill the crack to keep it clean?

You might think about using a very thin cyanoacrylate glue (SuperGlue) to fill the crack. I get 4 ounce bottles of a product called Stickfast at a Woodcraft store, for $11 or $12 each, in three different viscosities. It works wonderfully for filling cracks in wooden things on my lathe. It may or may not stick well enough to keep it from leaking, so it could be an addition to the JB Weld trick.

The Thin formulation is very thin, so will fill very small cracks. Just don’t open the container without eye protection, as it is thin enough to to spatter when the bottle is opened.

Thanks for the reply’s. I will most likely try thr JB weld outside then the super glue inside. The camper is in a camp in the deer woods for Ar least another 2 months.

Cracks, there are two, are very small. I actually thought they were hairs in bottom of sink till I tried to wash sink out. This is in a 2 yo Hideout. Have no idea how they occurred.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Are you sure it is coming from the cracks? My sink started leaking at the down tube to sink connection after 3 years. I ended up having to replace the down tube and p trap.
If it is really the cracks, plumbers putty would work instantly but look like crap. If the sink is cracked, I'd just replace it.

I’m a little surprised no one has suggested duct tape!

Easy to replace the sink. Done it twice.
Look to see what Home Depot has.

Replacing may come in the future but I’m in the middle of deer season so quick fix will hopefully work till I get it back to my shop. A man has to have his priorities!

Another option that may work for the short go is a dish pan that fits down in the sink. OR just not washing dishes!

I'd just use a plastic basin in the sink until I had time to replace it with a stainless one.

Wick superglue in the crack.
Multiple passes and ↓↓this↓↓ or a pan under the cabinet should get you thru deer season.
