Does anyone worry about dirt and grit getting into your distributed hitch when not towing? I have been removing the hitch and storing in a plastic tote so the grease does not get covered with sand and grit when I drive. I have also thought about wrapping the hitch in a sturdy plastic bag. Anyone else concerned about dirty grease grinding away on the hitch parts?

Back when I had TT's (before 1988) I never considered it as a problem.
