Does anyone know of a bug screen for this Atwood Exhaust? Can't find anywhere!

The manual says the furnace is an Atwood hydro-flame 8500-IV...I attached a pic of the exhaust. The problem is that the Camco and other maker Mud Dauber Screens don't fit the exhaust. Even the ones that say "for Atwood 8500" on the package don't look like they'd fit (they have the bulge off-centered, and mine is right in the middle as you can see in the pic). The exhaust in the pic (the whole square) measure 5" by 5.5" and the little circular part in the middle has a diameter of about 2 3/4"....I've searched everywhere. Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help
Dave

Go to Lowe's, buy some aluminum window screen. Cut out a 6x6 square, remove the cover, place screen wire on back of cover/trim plate, replace, trim.

Don't see anything really unusal about your vent ( except 1 not 2 ) the covers pictured attach via a spring with hooks on both end, that engage the cover and the crossbar on your vent, should work ! Here in the south, you have to have em, or mud dappers will definitely nest there !!!

gazinggm42,

I bought that part number from Camco (it was actually the first one I bought), and it too doesn't fit. The diameter of the round screen is too big (the description even says its 3" diameter and my vent is a little under 2 3/4") and leaves a big gap. This is driving me nuts...

I know I can go the Lowes route but was hoping to use that as a last resort.

This is pretty much what I did with ours except I had some leftover synthetic (plastic type) screen. Cheap and easy.

Thanks for checking, pepper2. I tried this one too. Unfortunately no, b/c the dimensions are 4.5" x 4.5", and my vent is 5 by 5.5.
