door key messed up

the bottom lock unlocks fine. so does the top lock but when i unlock the top it seems backward and i cannot take the key out without locking it up again. i took it out and turned it over and same problem. when i bought the trailer they had lost the keys so i had new keys made. it locks just great but i have to leave the key in it until i am done then i can lock it up and take the key out.

I had kinda the same problem. I took everything apart, cleaned and used fluid film on the parts and put it all back together and it worked. I also put fluid film on the key and wiped it off.

Not sure what I did to fix it. It was a bit loose when I took it apart. I did tighten everything back up when I put it together.

Maybe just tightening it, maybe cleaning the parts, maybe using fluid film. I don't know what the magic was.

Mine worked fine for a few years but stopped working. I took it apart and found one of the tumblers in the barrel was broken. I bought a replacement on amazon that claimed to be American made and I really like it. Took a few minutes to replace.

Just get an entirely new lock assembly, probably Trimark, or get an electronic lock, RVLock.com or Kohree or Bauer.

Travel trailer locks and motor home locks are different, so be sure and get the right thing.
