ECHO Wireless Brake Control

We are using a Mercedes GLE 350 4matic to tow our new Lance TT. The hitch supplier wants us to use the Echo wireless brake controller because of difficulty hard wiring into the Mercedes electrical. Has any one had good / bad experience with wireless brake controllers? Is the Echo a good wireless controller?

Had that problem last year with an Audi Q5. i did all the wiring in the Audi myself and it was a pretty big job. Went with the Echo controller and was very pleased as it seemed to work better than my past experience with other controllers. just last week when we hooked up to come home from a camping trip the brakes would grab with just the slightest touch of the brake panel. I checked all the wiring and unplugged and plugged everything and charged my phone back up. After that everything started working again and we drove home with no problems. I don’t really know what happened but suspect it had something to do with the phone loosing all it’s charge. Echo says that if you loose your phone connection the controller will still work on it’s last setting. Leaves me worried that it will happen again. Ask the people doing your wiring about this issue and see if they have had previous problems of this type.
