Electrical Socket Issues

So I have seen many discussions concerning bad sockets which are part of a GFI string. I wanted to make sure I understood the outcome correctly as I am missing a few threads.
In my case, the only GFI I have is in the main bathroom which appears to be working using the test/reset mechanisms. I used to have a GFI in the second bathroom but because of a internal fault somewhere that circuit was disconnected. I had another working circuit near by so I tapped into that one and put a regular socket in it's place. The socket I tapped into also was powering a TV. After a couple of months, both the TV and the bathroom wall socket stopped working....ugh.
There is also a socket on the outside wall of the camper in the water protected enclosure. This socket is also dead and it is noted as a GFI protected circuit which I am thinking is chained off of the main bathrooom GFI. If I read correctly, I should remove the wires from the outside socket and either use a regular socket or, wire tap the powers together and the returns together and see if the sockets ( TV and 2nd bathroom ), power up ?

Without context and more details this is a hard question to answer, for one thing we don't know where the actual fault is. Until that is located everything else is moot.

Thumbs up

Given your assumptions, I agree a pass through test of the outside socket may reveal the outside socket is defective. Then simply replace it.

I assume you have already tightened all the connecting screws in the service entrance. Both hot and neutral screws have been known to spontaneously loosen. Likewise screws and wire nuts on daisy chained circuits. All the sockets including ones that still work could have a loose or corroded screw that is causing the problem.
I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!
