Find your stolen TV

I am seriously looking into buying one of these for my new (but not yet purchased) TV to replace the one stolen last weekend:

SPOT Trace Personal and Auto GPS

FRYS.comÂ*|Â*SPOT

They are on sale at Fry's who I don't work for or have any connections with. I want to be able to find my TV if the next one gets stolen. Maybe even catch a thief at it.

Anyone have one of these? Or similar and would comment on if it works?

Was your Automobile or your television stolen? If it was just a television than I'm 50/50 on if we should be tracking down criminals. Could be hazardous to your health. It would be cool to no where it is I suppose.

Long story; I live across the street from a golf course and had permission to put a nice basketball hoop at the back of the parking lot. Last week the 350 lbs hoop was stolen during the night. I wish I had one of these units in it. Not sure what I would have done if I had caught them in the act. Probable just dial 911.

Paint the back of your new TV orange or yellow.
Wherever you camp, put an inexpensive game camera out somewhere focused on your rig when you are away. Next time might not just be your television.
I like the new Ring Camera security system.

Cool

You'd likely have little help fro law enforcement to recover your stolen property anyway.

My Grandson had an iPhone stolen in Chicago a few months ago. Using "find my iphone" on the Apple platform, we could isolate the phone to a specific location (address) on the south-side of Chicago. Called the police and they refused to go there to recover the stolen phone.

So, I would check into the ability to even recover your property, before spending additional money on such technology...
