Ford F-150 3.3 6 cylinder, Anybody?

Anyone towing with Ford 3.3, any input would be great help? I've got 2019 F-150 supercab 2x w/ 3.73 ratio. 7400 LB tow , new trailer 4150 LB's. All #'s in line max 75%! Last RV was Class A so new to TT, bought truck as transportation not for towing. Didn't realize how much we would miss the life!!
Again any input is greatly appreciated. thanks!

My thoughts are you will be under powered but so what. What you have is the wheelbase so you have an ok towing platform, just not the power. You will however get to where you are going.

There was a different member and was asking about the Ram V6. He did not have a truck and by far the general consensus was to but the 5.7 hemi.

Since you already have the truck you can try it. If it does not tow the way you like you can always trade for a F-150 with the 5.0 Coyote engine. If it goes ok, great.

As the old saying goes, "If your going to a gunfight, bring enough gun."

You have a pretty small engine so it will be working it pretty hard. Your in the lowland part of the world. Flatland it will do ok but your going to suffer on even a small hill. Come up to altitude and you will be woefully underpowered.
I have pulled 6k (car on trailer) with my brother in laws Dodge 1/2t with the 5.7 before but I tell ya, it worked that truck pretty good on hills.

Having enough engine is one thing, having enough truck is another. Your trailer is fairly light so your F150 should be ok. But the drawback to 1/2t trucks is they really arent built to tow much more than a couple dirt bikes or ATV's.
They dont have the frame, suspension, transmission, axles, cooling system, brakes and the like for towing heavier loads. Check to see if your truck is equipped with a tow package. If it is not then you may want to look at either enhancing your existing truck or upgrading. Transmission and oil coolers (the latter is essential for small high revving turbo engines), trailer brake, larger differential cover for more oil capacity, better brake pads etc.
I have seen folks go through it before and realistically by the time they put all of the work and money into a 1/2t they would have been time and money ahead upgrading to a 3/4t.

Just remember, just because you can pull it doesnt mean you can safely steer and stop it.
