Fresh Water Tank
Need some advice. I just recently purchased a 2023 Coleman Lite 2755BH. It does not have a fresh water tank dump valve like my previous trailer did. All it has is a valve just like the low point valve to drain the water.
My question is, is this normal or did they forget to install a dump valve?

Welcome to the forum and congratualtions on your new trailer!!
Trailer fresh water tank drain valves come in different valving configurations based on my experience with four fifth wheel trailers. Sounds like you have a low point drain valve. Suggest partially filling the fresh water tank and opening up the low point drain to confirm functionality.

my ORV is the first RV I've had with a FW dump valve - all the others had a quarter turn ball valve with a 1/2" line.

Thank you! I really like the trailer. I confirmed it was the drain for the fresh water tank. I just thought it was odd that the trailer doesn’t have a dump valve. It’s a 60gallon tank and they filled it at the dealership and opened the drain before I left. I thought it was just draining the low point waters but I drove home approx 90miles and it was still draining a little bit. So I searched and noticed that was the drain for the FWT. I found the low point valves underneath the bathroom/shower. Other than that I’m pleased with the trailer so far.

I see. Yeah this is my 2nd trailer and my 1st had the dump valve. So I just wasn’t sure if they forgot to install it or what. I guess if you use most of the water it’s not that big of a deal draining it out of the small valve huh?

I never missed having a large gate valve to drain the FW; just opened the small valve when I got home to empty the rest of the unused FW....

In my experience, the majority of towables have the 1/2" quarter turn valves instead of the larger dump valve. Perhaps some newer RVs are gradually changing to the larger dump valve.

Agreed though I'm not sure it's really an improvement; several people on the ORV forum have posted that they've lost their FW when the valve opened on a rough road......arriving at a boondocking site with a dry tank would not be good. I plan on adding a pipe plug below the valve; a bit more of a PITA when dumping but no worries about losing all the water.

You could also loop a zip tie around the valve handle to keep it shut.
