I would say it's been really 25 years since fresh water tanks were mounted inside a travel trailer.

Look for RVs labeled "Arctic Ready" or "Four Season" for winterized protection. Gulf Stream, North Wood, and Starcraft, among others, all have RVs with the above designation.

For the OP, who bought a TT without knowing to inspect for use in winter, I'd suggest he could insulate his tanks and enclose with a belly skin. He could also divert one of his furnace ducts into the new enclosed space to heat it. This won't be a perfect solution, no telling about plumbing runs and dump valves, but it's a start.

Water tanks under the bed is a common strategy in Class C and gas Class A RVs, I've seen it in some TT but I can't recall the brands, models, or years they did that. Of course the black and grey tanks are still underneath and insulated, skinned, and heated in a variety of ways.

I didn't think to look for the location of the fresh water tank, because all my past camper's a TT and a Ford Ranger Class C had the fresh water tank inside the black and grey were always external on all the campers I used or owned, I thought about enclosing the FW tank and running a duct from the furnace thought the floor the location is ideal, the furnace and tank are on the same side and the tank is directly below the furnace, my heat is already ducted to all the rooms through the floor it has 6 unused duct ports that have factory covers on them the hard part will probably be cutting into the floor between the furnace and fridge but it should be doable.

Most people don't camp in cold (winter cold that is) weather, so logically most camping trailers are built for the majority. The water system is plenty safe from freezing down well into the mid 30's F, and that's most campers' cutoff point. 30's and 40's at night is plenty cold for a furnace without needed anything special done to protect the fresh water system.

Those who only rarely camp in freezing temps just winterize the camper, then dry camp using 5 gallon jugs or something similar for water.

I don't ever expect to care if my tanks are vulnerable to freezing, since the TT is winterized and parked next to my utility shed during the winter. I'm a fair (or at least warm) weather camper.
