Fresh water tank very slow to fill. FIXED IT

I had a fresh tank that was extremely slow to fill. It was under warranty but the dealer did not trace down the problem.
I could not live with a 45 gallon tank that took 1 1/2 hours to fill so I bought a flow meter that goes on the water hose. I took multiple measurements; including at the hose with nothing connected, with city and fresh tank connections in the control box. I removed the control box, removed the trailer hose connections and tested the control box with the backflow devices installed. I wrote down every flow rate.

Taking it to the dealer and handing them the list surprised them; but they finally removed the bottom and traced all the hoses; finding 2 hoses with kinks. The water flow increased X10 times.

If you have slow fills, you may wish to investigate using a flow device. It was relatively inexpensive.

Fill Hose and Vent Hose would be the 2 hoses I would suspect when Long fill times (Slow Fill) are happening

u like you r flow meters don't ya... easy to figure out what the problem was without one and you r dealer should have stepped up and resolved the issue without you diagnosing it.

First of all; the dealer did not step up and diagnose it at first so it was left up to me if I was going to get it fixed. Secondly, I did not buy a flow meter because I have a love affair with them; I needed proof the problem was in the trailer, otherwise the warranty would have expired and I would have been stuck with it.
The point of the post was to let others who have similar problems on an inexpensive way to isolate the problem and make the dealer fix it.

you have one ****** dealer then if it took 1.5 hours to fill your water tank. They knew their was a issue but they did not want to take the time to fix it properly as they would not have gotten paid for some of their warranty work while they were diagnosing it... Not trying to be a dick but you should not have had to waste your time diagnosing and buying things to diagnose with.. If it were me and the dealer was not willing to diagnose the issue i would have went to social media after talking to the manager, as they know that can hurt them more than any money they would have lost diagnosing the issue.. Sad part as well i will bet they claimed diagnosing time that they did not do...

On a side note i have worked in both RV centers and automotive most of my life and i have never done that to a customer. I am the first one out the door climbing in and around things to try and help the customer as fast as possible even if its not my department to do so..

Our FW tank was getting slower and slower to fill. Turned out to be the filter was plugging up.

Glad to hear you were finally fixed up on warranty.
