I previously had two champion 2000's (cost for two aprox $1,000) because of the weight issue. lifiting 45 lb generators was the only benefit, while hooking up the parallel connections was a bit of a pain.. Had to replace both of the champion carburators after two years.

The Onan weighs in at about 100 lbs, but a short ramp and a front mounted cargo carrier makes loading very easy. It will handle almost all my electrical loads and most of the time, doesn't need to be taken off of the cargo carrier to be run.

It has never failed to start, has more fuel capacity than the two champions combined, and seems to use less fuel...

Anyone in the NJ area interested in a couple of champion 2000 generators with a parallel kit.. The price would be very reasonable. make me an offer..

safe travels and happy camping...

PSA-
Run your carbs dry when shutting down the generator and run Ethanol free fuel in them.
I have 3 Champions (2k watt gasser, 3750 watt gasser and 2500 watt dual fuel).
The 2k and 3750 are 3+ years old and have never given a lick of trouble and if they ever do Champions customer service is excellent.
