Golf Cart in Truck Bed
So, my family and I have gotten into a habit where we rent a golf cart when we go to certain campgrounds, especially the larger ones. It tends to get pricey and we have been thinking of purchasing a cart of our own, which we would use in our neighborhood from time to time as well. I have a Ram 2500 with a 3,300 lb payload capacity so putting the cart in the bed of the truck is an option and we would still be within our numbers. My question is, does anyone put their cart in the truck bed and pull a TT? Anyone do it with a short bed? Any tips or tricks? Thanks in advance!

While I don't have a short box, a few of my buddies do.
They haul their atv's. They have been using vehicle systems latch bar, keeps your gate open at 30 deg, still have room for fairly tight turning while hooked to trailer. Don't know the weight, length of a golf cart but you might also want to pick up a loading bar while running up your tail gate, don't want to rely on the little cables to support that much weight. Don't cheap out on loading ramps, go over rated, I've seen them buckle when your 1/2 way up, not pretty.

I crushed my tailgate last year towing our camper with the tailgate down.
Finally got around to building something that allowed me to remove the tailgate and secure the golf cart in the truck bed. I’ll try to figure out how to post some pictures.

Doubt you'll fit a "Larger one" in a 6' bed.

You deleted some of his quote, I believe he means....bigger campgrounds...
Don't pick and choose what you delete when your quoting.

I meant the larger campgrounds. Should have been more clear. Thanks

This is exactly what I was looking for! Another question. How big of a pain is it to haul like this? Do you have to re-set up your WDH when you're taking the cart and when you're not taking the cart. I wont always be taking our cart with us and don't want to have to adjust the WDH back and forth. BTW my truck is a Ram with a 3,200 lb payload. Any suggestions for ramps? Thanks for all your help!

As far as the hitch goes, we use a Blue Ox. It’s just a matter of using one different link in the chain to get the same nose height on the camper as with out the cart in the truck.
I have a set of Reece arched ramps that fold in half. Each ramp is rated 750lbs, so 1500 total. I’m well within the rating of the ramps even with my 200lbs driving the cart into the truck. If I was to doing it again, I might go with beefier ramps. I tend to overthink things at times.
One thing that might be different for you is whether your rear seat foot rest folds up on the golf cart not. Mine does, so I don’t have any additional clearance issue with my tanks or anything.

I've used these guys before. personally I don't like the ramps that have the "fingers" for taking the weight, I like the ones that have a solid contact point, and foldable.
