I had Westlake tires on my Grand Design TT. Put about 9,000 miles on them and while they looked good, for piece of mind I just changed them out to the GY Endurance. When Discount Tire was changing them out I did see a bulge on the inside of one tire.

While Westlake tires may not be as bad as some of the current China bombs, a lot of trailer owners (to include Grand Design) have experienced problems with them. I am a member of the Grand Design Forum and see plenty of issues related to the Westlakes on the forum. Most appear to be associated with 5th wheel trailers so weight may be a major factor.

I understand several OEM's have switched over to GY Endurance tires now.

Another critical factor that is overlooked, and I must admit I made this mistake when I first got a larger race trailer and was trying to get the best tire I could, and that is wheel size. The larger you go, the better off you are. I had 15” tires, and people kept telling me to go to 16” and I didn’t because I didn’t want the expense. But if you can, go to a bigger wheel. Especially if you have a 14” wheel. It helps a lot
