Height of Fleetwood Mallard

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but I'm just wondering why they make the Fleetwood Mallard so high off the ground. Some TT are low to the ground. This particular TT is much higher than some other types of trailers. Not complaining, but just curious.

More clearence means less dragging when going in and out of gas stations for example. Our TT is quite high and have not had any problem with dragging. It was made to get off highway. Our previous TT was a 23' Prowler and it would drag at most gas stations.

Check to see if the axles are above the springs or below--if below, the axles may have been relocated (flipped) to get more ground clearance. If the axles are above the springs, then the clearance has to come from the frame--spacers/tubes welded in between the frame and spring mounts. Either way, neat to have clearance as mentioned before for drives and ditches...

Heighth of Fleetwood Mallard

Cliff & Joe -
Hey- thanks for responding to my question. Was just curious. I agree that it is a good feature. Only drawback that I can find is when I want to put it in a shed for storage. But it is nice not to worry about it dragging! ~ Wheels

trailer

We have a Creekside 23RKS and its a newer verison of the Mallard and they
have made it higher for worse roads as well as heavier axles at least on ours. Some we looked at wouldn't get down my driveway.
