Help Needed--new RVer -- R-Vision

WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2004 R-Vision Trail-Lite 22'. Never having owned a motorhome before I need help understanding how to operate various hoses, etc. I know where to attach the hose for emptying the black tank and grey tank. There is an input for fresh water and apparently one for the grey tank. Also there is another spot that looks like it would have a black water connection that is separate from the "normal" place to empty the black water. I have watched a couple of youtube videos on emptying the black water and think I have a handle on that. I don't know what this connection is for. Could it be to empty the black tank also?

Also, when we went dry camping a couple of weeks ago, though the gauge shows a full tank on fresh water the faucet would not work when camping. When at home and plugged in, it works. Is there a pump that needs electricity to run the water?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. msnancy

You will have better luck if you can post some pictures. Didn't the previous owner show you anything? It might be good to ask some fellow campers to help. Most RVers are very glad to help out as we might be the next to need advice or help.

There is an input for fresh water and apparently one for the grey tank This is probably the black tank rinse connection. Need to connect a hose other than your white fresh water hose to it to put water into the black tank to help rinse out any solids left behind during draining....or it could be a gravity inlet for fresh water. Also there is another spot that looks like it would have a black water connection that is separate from the "normal" place to empty the black water Not sure what you mean by this one... a picture would be nice. I have watched a couple of you tube videos on emptying the black water and think I have a handle on that. I don't know what this connection is for. Could it be to empty the black tank also No, you will only have one black tank drain valve...again might be the black tank rinse connection?

Also, when we went dry camping a couple of weeks ago, though the gauge shows a full tank on fresh water the faucet would not work when camping. When at home and plugged in, it works. Is there a pump that needs electricity to run the water? Yes, you will have a 12v electric pump to pump out the water from the fresh tank if you are NOT connected to a water faucet outside. There should be a switch someplace labeled water pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. msnancy
Hope this helps

Ron

Help Needed--new RVer -- R-Vision

I have a photos to show what my concern was in my previous post. This one one the bottom right shows the input? or output? I have questions about. Any idea what this is for? The top right is, I believe, for grey water, the bottom left for fresh water and the top left is to drain the black water.

Thanks for your help. Nancy

We started out in an R-Vision B+! That was several years ago and the R-Vision brain cells have atrophied but both grey & black should empty from the same outlet. You should have 2 handles, one for grey & one for black. Empty black first then the grey.

I *think* you have 2 separate water intakes. One for fresh water that you hook up with a hose to the spigot. The other is to fill the fresh water tank on the RV. I don't know which is which.

Good luck!

Thank you for your help. The one water input in locked and says non pressure water and I assume this is where you fill the water tank. The other is for water when you have hookups. I know where the two valves are to empty the black and grey water so the only question is the large whole behind a flap. I wonder if it is for storing the hose to empty the black/grey water? It is an opening about that size. Does that ring a bell from when you owned one of these?

I am sorry to be so ignorant of all these. My husband could have figured them all out in the past but he now has dementia and has lost the ability to trouble shoot things.

Many thanks for your reply. Nancy

I'm guessing, but it looks like hose or power cable storage.

Thank you for replying. You are correct it is a hose storage. I was able to make out the manufacturer and their web address. The flap is missing the latch but the company is still in business and I can purchase one from them for $5.

I am so happy with this website and those of you who took the time to respond. I feel much more confident now about how things work.

My previous mh had this hole (with cover) and it was indeed for the sewer hose....unfortunately, the hole was only about 3' long and I couldn't get all of my stinky slinky in there. Never did use it.
