Do yourself and your wallet a favor - go to YouTube and search for “the Geo method” and “ poo pyramid”. There is a guy there who explains all you need to know about keeping you black and gray tanks operational.

I’ve posted much about this on the board, do a search on my posts.

But to summarize - know that your black and gray tanks are “holding tanks”, not bio digesters such as septic systems are.
All you need in your tanks for treating is/are -

A grease cutter (Dawn dishwashing soap)
A water softener (Borax)
And Time (the longer the above and water is in the tank, to include the following two points, the better).
And Temperature (hopefully you drain you hot water tank into your black and gray tanks when breaking camp)
And Agitation (not ice cubes, but traveling down the road with ~5 gallons of water in the tanks).

And always, always, when breaking camp, drain your tanks then refill each with about 5 gallons of water with both the Dawn detergent and Borax. You can also add a little citrus cleaner in there as well.

Yep, go with 'Happy Camper'. Been using it for 5 years. Works great!
