Fridge on while towing?

Since we are on the subject of being level and it has to be level for the fridge to be on, can it be on going down the road? Not all roads are level. I am also new to all this. I would want my beer cold when I get to where I'm going.

Yes, on while travelling is ok, but if you really want your RV absorption fridge to last a long time, you'll get one of the add on safety controllers from ARP

The trouble from un-level operation comes from the coolant pooling. While running our smooth highways there is no chance of pooling.
And I understand new things are not made as well as in the past, but my fridge is over 20 years old. Another in the extended family has been in full time use for at least 60 years...

X2. Yep.

If that fridge is ON keep that baby level front to back and side-to-side or it will ruin an absorption fridge and they cost a bunch to replace.

X2. I always raise front a little to help she'd water and snow melt over the winter.

Like others, when parked at home and loading up and getting ready for a weekend, with fridge on, I level. When in storage (unlevel lot), I unhook then drop tongue down (3/4 degrees) to allow water to run off. Never had an issue.

Now this may be getting off topic from the OP about leveling. I was doing some reading that keeping fridge on during trip may be dangerous due to needing propane on. Most say it should be off when traveling.

Nope, there is definitely a difference of several hundred pounds.

Most do not say that.
You need to do more reading. The refrigerator and in fact the entire propane system are designed for use when in motion.
This gets beat to death every couple of months. Hopefully it won't take off forever here. Being the OP says he's new I couldn't leave it alone.
Some people are scared of propane. MOST run the fridge on propane while traveling.
