How to keep water hose from freezing?
I was wondering if any of you have rigged your water hoses for winter to keep them from freezing? And if so, what is your setup?
I'm referring to your hose connection between the city (campground) water to your camper.
Thanks.

If you are planning to use the water in cold weather, they make a heated water hose designed just for this purpose. It will keep the hose from freezing. However, they will do nothing for the spigot. You could wrap them in heat tape. You will need elec. to operate these and the only problem could be a power failure that lasts a long time.

Take water hose out of storage, connect, fill up tank, disconnect and roll up, put back in storage and turn on pump. If that doesn't work then drive further south.

Google heated water hoses for RV's. There are a few different brands.

Low 20s for past 2 weeks. I have the heated hose and cover the park utility post with a blanket....so far it works. As it gets colder I will put a powered bulb under the blanket to keep the park tap and my regulator from freezing. I am Canadian and I cannot go to the USA (read warmer) as I am limited to 6 months per year and used 3.5 from jan to mid apr.
the suggestion from mr. d also works and I sometimes do that.

A blanket or tarp over the pedestal is a great idea. Yes, I could use the pump, but it is loud and I hate to do that to my neighbors. I just ordered the Allied hose. Apparently, there are only about three or four brands, and Allied seemed like the least horrible. We'll see.

In WY for next 3 weeks before heading back to FL. Have ahead a few days of below 32 degrees so far. I have a heated hose that turns on below 35. I also went to the hardware store and got some foam tubes that fit over pipes (I am using the 1 inch foam for my 5/8 hose). The water source is one of those that you lift the handle to start the flow of water and when you close the handle the water drains from the pipe down to the water main level (4 or 6 feet here). On nights it is going below freezing, I shut the water source pump off. Next day when temp rises I turn on the go back out and turn the water on. I also keep water tank nearly full to use water during the time I have the source shut off. The guy a couple sites over from me is going to be here longer and today he built a plywood box over the water source with about a foot and a half of space from one side to the other. Not sure but he may have put some foam board on the plywood too. I

Every CG we stayed in during freezing temps requested that hoses be disconnected before night fall.......
SO fill the fresh water tank, drain/stow hose and forget about it

Stow hose and leave the water spigot dripping. That’s what they told us to do at Yellowstone.

I don't know what the cg's policy is on winter water, but I'm sure they'll set me straight once I arrive.
Thanks for all the help, good people.

Note, frost-free hydrants will not always drain as designed if a hose is hooked up. If I owned the CG and your hose caused my hydrant damage I would not be happy. And likely on a cold night I would walk around with a flashlight and a sharp knife.
