Info on 2005 F/R Cedar Creek Siverback
We are looking at a one owner 2005 Cedar Creek Silverback 27LRLS. It is in very good condition, priced between average high/low. have read a lot of complaining about the newer Forest River products on the net, but not the older. Does anyone on here have knowledge on this model or year group. Any information would be most appreciated, want to try and make a smart choice for my money, have made more than my share of bad ones, trying to do better in my senior years. I have until Monday to say yea or nay. Thanks in advance for any and all help. gps PS Will be towing with a 2013 Ford ecoBoost, with max weight & tow packages, rated for 11000 lbs. Hope to be at least 4000 lbs below that when starting for Montana

Like any trailer, no matter it's price, it can have problems. Look it over HARD. Walk on the roof, walk on all the corners of the floors, feel the slide out floors, and look for stains. Run the appliances if you have time.
What is the GVWR of that trailer?

Gross weight:
It is around 10000 lbs, don't have the actual max number in front of me. The trailer weight is listed as 5590 lbs and each axle is rated at 5500 lbs. I want to keep the load weight as close as I can to 1500 or less. I only carry 10 gallon or so of water, 5 or so in black tank and gray what we may have used for the day, so water weight should remain close to what we started with. I will get a loaded weight before we leave. Have a list to run before cash changes hands. Thanks for the input. gps

There's no way that thing is 5590lbs empty. Maybe 9K empty. You really need to find out those numbers, because you might be overloaded.

That's crazy. How can pin weight be 700, axle weight 5400, and NOT add up to 6100lbs empty?

The 27LRLS has 5200lb axles, dry weight of 7300lbs, and GVWR of 11200lbs. That makes more sense.

Thanks for all the Feedback. What I am looking at is a 05, the bumper pull, not a 5th wheel. The 06 bumper pull does weight more
Sorry that was not made clearer on my original post. gps
