iRV 66 Radio Problem

Just wanted to relay some information to everyone about the iRV 66 players in a number of Travel Trailers.

This past weekend we had an issue with sound from the radio, where zone 1 (living area) sound went away. Zone 2 ( bedroom ) zone 3 (outside) were fine. Prior to this weekend the sound was fine in all modes in all zones

Friday evening before bed we watched a DVD on the player after the movie was over we ejected the movie and went to bed. Saturday morning we turned on the radio for some music and there was no sound out of the speakers in zone 1. Zones 2 & 3 were fine.

Sunday evening when we came home I messed around with the player. I put a DVD in the player started it, stopped it and then ejected the DVD. When the DVD ejected the iRV Technologies logo popped up on the TV and when the DVD came all the way out the radio came up and sound was now coming out of zone 1 speakers. Problem solved.

If you just eject a DVD without first stopping the DVD playing it seems that the iRV player can get hung up somehow. The sound does not get electronically routed back to the radio.

Hope this helps someone.

We have had similar issues with ours. I troubleshot it down to something related to the amplifier or similar. I replaced the entire unit with a nice car radio style unit that had an aux input that runs from the tv. So far, much much better sound and everything's works just as well. The iRV units are junk.

Someone was nice enough to pass this info to me since we had problems with our IRV66 from day 1. Ours would occasionally cut out some of the speakers, channels, etc. It also would be very sporadic with the bluetooth connections, pairing etc.

I spoke with Todd and Nelson from Patrick Industries and they explained to me that the initial units had software issues that they have since updated. If you contact them within the warranty period they will ship you a new unit. You do have to send the old one back so they will hold a credit card number until they receive it.

If you aren't comfortable replacing it yourself, you can have it swapped through warranty at your RV dealer, but I'd probably expect a bit of delay doing through a dealer.

I had the same issue with my new trailer.
Sound would be fine for 1 hr or so then it would just shut off all sound.
After powering the unit off for 30 min or so it would work again. I figured it was overheating.

I called the dealer and talked to their warranty guy, he said "no problem we'll order a new one"

They came out to my house and replaced it in my driveway...

No problems since.

I realize this is a very old thread but, I am hoping someone will know the answer to my question.

I would like to know when these iRV 66 units came out with the updated software. I am considering purchase of a 'new' in the box unit that has a date of manufacture in 2015.

I have sent the manufacturer an email as well.

For those that have these units, have they been performing OK?

You should start a new thread. You will get a better group of answers that way.
