I quess in my opinion the short time a impact is used is a lot less annoying than having to listen to music having to be played all day long!!

After reading all these posts curiousity got the best of me. My son's travel trailer is sitting in my backyard so I took my DeWalt 20V. impact drill / driver out and using my stop watch I ran the rear jacks down until the driver started to make the impact sound. Both rear jacks took under 5 seconds to run from fully raised to ground contact. I didn't even try the front jacks as they are mounted so the jacks have only about 2/3 the distance to travel as the rear jacks do.
All told if I ran all the jacks down it would total roughly 16 seconds time to lower all 4 jacks. Is this what some on this forum are actually complaining about?
I live a few miles from one of the largest Army bases in the US. We have Helicopters and jet planes going over our home often as well as we have a commercial airport also nearby. I moved into the house I built in 1975 and I have never complained about noise even though it can go on any hour of any day.
I guess if I need something to complain about to the members on this forum I'll have to look and listen a little further and longer to find something to complain about other than a rat-a-tat for a few seconds of a battery powered impact drill or wrench. Maybe the folks who moved in across the road from us and immediately built a chicken coop and have chickens with a noisy rooster will suffice for something to complain about. Or maybe I'll just go on and mind my own business, live and let live.

The louder the better. I love Country Music. Especially the music from the real years, the 50's, 60's and the 70's. Rock on!

Maybe the actual issue was the guy had to fire up his open frame generator to run his pancake air compressor in order for his air powered impact wrench to work. That could be annoying.

I actually have an accordion and actually play the thing, not great, but I enjoy it. When neighbors gets annoying, yep.... I pull it out! I get some really weird looks. But, no one has ever told me to stop playing!

Got woken up three days ago at 05:30AM by someone using an impact gun to raise their jacks. RUDE! Plus they were noisy and took a long time to depart.
BTW - this same group kept us up past midnight 2 nights previously. They operated like there was no one else in the campground. It was both adults and kids.

I agree with most of the posters' replies, why make all that noise any time of day when a cordless drill would do the job. Save the impact gun for changing a flat.

You're coming up with a lot of whataboutism excuses to use the wrong tool for the job. If you don't have a good 1/2" cordless drill, and only have an impact driver, then go ahead and be "that guy" and use it for your stabilizers. Maybe Santa will bring you the correct tool this Christmas?

Your assumptions are totally incorrect. I have an assortment of battery powered drills by DeWalt, Craftsman, Milwaukee and a couple others as well as battery powered impact drivers all about the same brand name tools.
I'll try to be quiet when I push the retract button for my hydraulic levelers.

Just commenting on your apparent defense of using the wrong, noisy tool. BTW, if I see you sitting up like a post turtle when your hydraulic jacks fail in the up position, I'll roll off my wood blocks and come over to assist you

Don't wait 'til something goes wrong. Stop by and have a beer with me anytime.
If you knew me, you'd like me!
