Boy I love these threads. The stuff that gets under peoples skin enough that they take time to complain to random strangers. Perhaps finding company in their misery? If the few seconds of an impact gun is that bothersome, one can only wonder what other short duration sounds are found unbearable.
Hopefully backup beepers aren't abounding, air brakes aren't being used, doors aren't being slammed, automatic air compressors aren't starting, air conditioning isn't audible, flags aren't snapping in the breeze, sneezing, coughing, yawning, or even the sudden and random crack of a pull tab never happens to excite those delicate tympanic membranes.

TL,DR. Really? That's a stressor?

More importantly, what did the offender say when you approached him about his actions? If it was indeed an impact gun and not a drill with the ratchet set too low perhaps they didn't know better. Of course making the assumption that since one was close enough to determine exactly what tool was being used, one would also chat with the person they were staring at.

Okay you both made me laugh. Maybe we all just need to think a little more about others AND also take a deep breath and let the minor stuff roll off our backs.

Personally, the closer proximity I am to other campers makes me more critical of my own actions, and more forgiving of theirs (because I know we all have different assumptions, and I'm there to relax, not be annoyed). Obviously there are limits. The calibration of all of this would be influenced by my location (big commercial campground vs. dispersed boondocking).

I think your expectations are too high. It's not going to happen! Folks don't ever consider others, they get get angry at others. And then more angry, and then more!

And, what does that get them? Nothing!
I ain't mad at nobody! I have never turned anyone down who needed help and I firmly believe the majority of other folks are the same way. This forum is a fine example of strangers helping strangers, most of which we will never meet face to face. It happens all the time.
We have to keep our own nest clean before worrying about someone else's.
Things are only what you make them to be.

I sort of jumped back into this at the end here,, but I was going to respond on the thoughts of above..

I equate this to my own ways lets say.. Last 30+ years we lived in and managed a apartment commercial property, our unit was second forr but was a comfy 1600sgft 2 bedroom with 200sqft added closets.. BUT it was on main street in town, 2 miles from a major hub in PA..RT81/476/84/80 within 15min..and an Airport (AVP)..

Anyway,, even prior to living there we camped..I camped with parents prior too, for the get away,, sure respect and life in late 60s and 70's was different..
BUT we still enjoyed the get away.. I ended up buying land to put RV on and let Junior dirtbike and lets the kid friend have fun away from the city poop..
So got to be loud when we want as the closest hunt cabin was 1/4-half mile.
Come hunt season,, we respected others, no snowmobiles,,,,no ATV,, .

I would never take my RV to a commercial camp ground like I would see racked and stacked on my visits to Florida... If I was doing those parks, I would be 80+ and just want to sit and play cards all day..

SORRY, my twisted opinion.. but respect of others is always first..

It seems to me after reading all these posts that no real confrontations took place so no harm done..

Sometimes it helps to just get the complaint out, and maybe get people to think about others..

Safe travels and all the best.

I prefer low impact exercise, and low impact camping.
