Is it rude to use an impact gun...

I read a FB thread about the rudeness of impact guns to lower stabilizers. Got me thinking...is it rude?
I am talking about during normal hours like 8am-8pm?
Thanks

Why would it be? Although I believe a cordless drill would be better due to the potential for damage to the bolt head on the jack from the impact.

I don't think so. The noise is there but it's short lived, probably less than a minute or two.

Imo though, a high torque cordless drill would be just as quick and quieter. A buddy of mine uses one, quiet and makes cranking effortless. Unless it's all a person has, there's really no need to use an impact.

Most manufacturers do not recommended using impact guns.
Cordless drill might be safer. But be careful you still might break it. Then you will blame the manufacturer for poor quality.

8 to 8 is ok just add that to the list of cg noises. The 6am guy that does this is just inconsiderate...just celebrate that he has left the scene.

Of course an owner does have a responsibility of keeping the jacks maintained. A break probably won't happen if it gets lubricated every once in awhile and/or isn't bent.

I use a cordless drill. An impact drive is the wrong tool for the job. Aside from being noisy it will eventually damage your stabilizer jacks... I never quite understood why people are using impact drives for this service.

Safe travels and all the best...

At 4am leaving the CG it would probably wake a few people up, but in normal routine I say go for it.

Personally I used a cordless drill.

Cordless drill is the answer. No need for impact drill

I always thought it was rude. You hear it across the camp ground and can not carry on a normal volume conversation when they are being used in the site next to you.

I use a cordless drill that has a clutch, so when the pads touch, the clutch stops driving. It's a lot quieter than an impact, although I do also carry a 1/2" impact in case I have to take lug nuts off..

Before 10am, rude.
Some people like to sleep in when they're on vacation.
Seems like the most obnoxious solution when darn near any cordless drill would do the same job a lot quieter.
