It looks like a Xmas tree inside at night!

Had a 40 yr old TT (everything manually operated) and now with the new 2019 TT when laying in bed, with all the lights out, all the parasitic loads and LEDs make it look like a Christmas tree inside the unit.

BTW, it has a constant electrical drain of 1.1 amps just for the parasitic loads and the Dometic refer. 25 AHs/day just sitting there!

Has/had a WEFCO power center and battery charger. NOT the best choice for recharging batteries dry camping and using a small Westinghouse genny.
Changed the battery charger out for a Xantrex 40 amp unit and it works great. 2-3 hrs on the genny and we're back at 90% on the batteries. Couldn't do that in 8 hrs with the original WEFCO charger as it only "tried" for 13.2 volts on charge and the Xantrex hits 14.1+ for a solid 2 hrs. Pumps in almost 30 amps for the first half hr then drops a little as the batteries come up.
The WEFCO charging profile is designed for FHUs all the time and not charging short times with a genny.

The Xantrex change out was easy. 5 wires and 2 screws.

Black electrical tape covers and blocks the light very well. I hate the blue LEDs the most.

The only parasitic load on mine would be the stereo, fridge, LP detector, and the occasional pump use so not a huge draw each day. I also have LED lights throughout. I've read about the WFCO lower charging rate and considered changing it out but after monitoring it for a few days with a volt meter I must have an odd ball unit as mine will charge slightly above 14V for a time then gradually drops just as I would expect.

Never saw 14 volts on my WEFCO Maybe 13.3 most of the time and then single digit amps going in within 30 mins. Also when I looked at the charging profile of the WEFCO I noticed that they prioritize the Absorption mode (13.3) over the Bulk mode (14.1).
The Xantrex does 14.3 and almost 30 amps for a long time in comparison. Single digit amps only when nearly full and dropping to 13.6 for the absorption mode.
Happy happy happy!
