Keystone Laredo tt...too good to be true?

We just finished looking at the 294rk and love all features about the interior. We have done a lot of research on tt's but not on this brand ( of course we will now). The weight is right, it has the 60x80 bed, shower, comfortable living area and roomy kitchen with lots of storage. Don't mean to sound like a salesperson, but on the surface it is right. The question is, how solid is the actual construction of this trailer? We sure would appreciate current and former owner's input as well as anyone else who'd like to chime in. Thanks so much!

Keystone makes several brands, and Keystone's owner, Thor, makes several others - including the high-end AirStream. Keystone's brands are sorted into three classes = standard, select, and premium. The standard class includes entry-level RVs and the less expensive fixtures and amenities. Nay-sayers call it the economy or "cheap" class The Select class is for the normal nice RVs in the middle price range, and the premium class means "luxury" = heavy.

The Laredo and Sprinter are both in the "select" or mid-priced class. We bought a new 2001 Sprinter fifth wheel, and it was an excellent mid-priced RV. Keystone got cheap with the stock springs, but after a couple broke, they replaced all the springs with heavier-duty springs. They also didn't put enough tire weight capacity on the RV, but that's common in the industry. After a couple of blowouts I replaced the tires and wheels with heavier-duty ones, and never another tire problem for the next 10 years.

We drug that 5er all over the USA for around 100,000 miles over the next 10 years. then we set it up in Austin and our daughter has been living in it full time for about 3 years now. Even though it is not rated as a full-time RV, she's had no adverse effects from living in it full time.

So we have had excellent service from our Keystone Sprinter. Therefore, I suspect you'll have similar experience with the Laredo brand.

We had a keystone Montana and loved it. Pretty well put together for it's price point.

I suggest that you take a look wherever wires, PEX tubing, gas lines, or hydraulic lines pass through anything. If there isn't something there to protect things from abrasion add them. A pretty good grommet can be made from unbraided fuel line that has been split into a C shape.

Tighten all the wires in the electrical panel and check them once ever year or so.

If it has a pocket door never travel with it unsecured. Same goes for closet doors.

My wife and I have a 35' Keystone Sprinter and have been full time RVng since August of 2012. We have 2007 Chevy 2500HD 6.0l and 6 speed automatic tranny. The combination works well. The trailer is pretty roomy and have had some minor warranty work. In all, we like the trailer. It has plenty of storage for us BUT the 60x80 bed is rock hard! If you change anything in your new trailer, change the mattress when you can.
