length before actual seats..
Hi,
Retired.long hauler here. Put on a lot of miles on our AF29-5T. Incredibly reliable and trouble free. Unfortunately, sold it last year.
I am disabled and need an actual chair to sit upon. I can.live with the banquets but only for eating.
Looking for a used TT that has real chairs .. what size do we need to go ? We would like to be under 24 foot.
Any brand I should be looking at and what year range ? Covid rigs are out but would prefer sonething older.
thanks for your input.

Buy the rig the length you want. Then switch out the chairs to what you need.

You probably need to go to a larger unit to get both a dinette and seating (Like an ORV 24RLS https://www.outdoorsrvmfg.com/timber-ridge-24rls/ ) But if you want to stay smaller and you don't mind using the seating with a TV tray, etc for eating you can swap the dinette for chairs in most units.

No, I have no desire to do renos (been there, done that) and trying to stick furniture where they don't belong is very tricky I cannot believe many are designed with just a banquette..
Prefer not to talk to a dealer....yet.
Thanks

Dave,
That is perfect.. funny, it is Northwood as well
Now, finding a used one will probably be as hard as finding a used AF TT.
This gives us a start. the DW said 25 foot or under.
Thanks!
Ian.

Mum is the word.. I suspect plus 25 is the only way to go. I have a 3500 HO so it won't notice it.. and she liked the layout.. happy wife and all that..

I like sitting in a regular chair, too. I use a sturdy folding chair that still leaves room to walk past. Would something like that work, or are you looking for a large chair? What kind of chair do you want?

After our first trip.. about 11k miles in 5.5 months, we gutted the main living area and tossed all the rv furniture out. Then we started experimenting with coaches and the type of chair I can live with. After a few trips, we found this chair. I can relax it it.
When we sold our rig, I kept the chair. Picture attached.
For outside, I use a directors type chair.

Manufacturers use Dinettes because they are relatively cheap, but offer storage underneath or a place to locate water heaters, electric power panels, and in come cases, lithium batteries. Removal is many times not an option. Depending on the positioning of the dinette, a chair at the end of it might be a good workaround.
I love a dinette and would not have an RV without one, however I certainly understand your needs, and everyone else's are quite different.

Understand. When I gutted mine, it held 2 cubbies. i built a nice box connecting thr 2 cubbies ( and increased the storage space,l and put a bar on top holding 8 bottle snugly. )
The chair i like is posted above.. however, i am loath to do another reno.
The search is one and the next step.is to our local dealer..
thanx

Remove the bench seat that is not against the wall. Then put one or two chairs in its place. Very easy to do.
