Leveling cooktop?

It seems difficult to level my trailer such that the cooktop is really level.

Maybe I am particularly sensitive to it, but I find it easier to cook if my stove top is level.

Any ideas or devices to fine-tune the cooktop?

I am thinking of cutting some wedges from a silicone spatula. They would be hear-resistant and would probably stay in place during use. They could be used to adjust the cooktop each time I set up camp.

Other ideas?

Have you tried putting a level on the cooktop and leveling the trailer with that?

I have. Sometimes that works better than other times, and leaves other components out of true.

It is hard to get a trailer really level, and most parts are not very sensitive.

Screw adjusters at the corners would work well, but fabrication would be hard to do for a retrofit.

What are you cooking - meth?

Usually mostly level works for me. It sounds like your stove was not installed level. Maybe split the difference between other things and the stove.

Oh, as long as the shower water does not pool in a corner I am level enough.

I sympathize with your issue. I am the camp cook and I am not great at it. I have enough to think about without juggling pans to keep cooking fat under the food. My original cook top was so bad, I had to prop the fry pan handle up to be reasonably level.

There are a lot of different cook top designs, but most would be easy to level using various seating tapes. Get the installation instructions by searching make and model on-line. The new cook top I just installed has a flange around three sides that sits on the counter top. Screws go from inside into edge of counter top or block attached to the underside of the counter top.

Usually you must remove thing on top like grates and covers. Installation instructions will show how it is mounted. You probably do not need to disconnect gas and electric since you will not have to move anything much.

Simply reinstalling it may make it level. Removing mounting screws may release it to re-seat on mounting surfaces. Putting screws back in may require some ingenuity since the screws will tend to go back into the same out of level holes.

My old cook top would have required shimming to level. My new one was level when seated flush to the top.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!

If you hve the same range as I do, 2019 25RDS then you can simply remove the grate and bend it ti make it level. The stove's mounted so the flanges rest on the counter so trying to level it would be impossible without leaving gaps under the flanges. Thay would be a place for food or liquid to fall into.
I usually have to remove or maybe just pull or push the grate a couple times a year to re-level it. It's really cheap thin metal, unlike the thicker one we had in our previous Northwood.

If you tell me meth requires a level cooktop I will believe you, as I have no experience to say otherwise.

It is mostly frying eggs and things that needs a level pan. The oil puddles on one side.

I have been wanting to address this for years. If I come up with a slick solution I will post it.

On my previous RV I used plastic toilet wedges to level it up. They can be cut to whatever size needed. They are normally used to level and keep toilets from wiggling.

My DW got hooked on the convection microwave. One day she was getting ready to bake a cake and realized the microwave was not level. So, looks like I'll have some shimming to do! Figure I'll level using the counter then shim the microwave.

On our sailboat the oven burner combo is gimbaled. Never understood why RV didn’t take that innovation.

You can cook pasta on a moving sailboat heeled at 12 degrees charging through 8 ft swells. Surly on level ground that should be easy
