Light weight double axle TT

I have been doing a bunch of searching on rvtrader.com but would appreciate any suggestions for 22-25ft TT with a dry weight under 4,000lbs. Fully realizing these numbers are not accurate for “real” weight going down the road but with weight management and a trip to the truck scales I can make it work.

We are looking at around the 2014-2020 model year and it should have an interior height of 78” with at least the ability to have a 60x80 queen. Perfect world would be a bunkhouse but definitely not required.

I’m not afraid to pull out a few chairs or a couch and/or dinning set to add some bunks and use a folding table to eat at.

Yes I fully understand towing capacity versus payload which is people/ luggage in the TV and WDH plus 12-15% of trailer weight. The top 2 we have found so far are the 239ML and 208BHS if you are wondering.

Thanks, Lance has some that would work but are they really worth almost twice the price of their competitors?

Only you can decide if it’s worth the extra cost. But before doing so you need to know the difference in materials, and construction methods, including wiring, and plumbing.

In recent years they have updated their frames, axels, tires, and overall increased weight. You won’t find a newer model in the 22 to 25’ under 4k dry weight. If you can find a nice used unit before the 2017.5 year updates with less options then you may get there. They are not impossible to find used, but are more difficult. Lance has a owners forum with a classified section, that owners post their “for sale” units.

Other factor to consider is your planned usage. Why pay a huge expense if “like most” use theirs for just a few short trips per year.

Other smaller, lighter weight high quality units are Casita, and Bigfoot.

Winnebago, Grand Design, Flagstaff, Rockwood, are some other decent choices that manufacture lighter weight units.

Just be careful when your looking for cheap, and very light weight units.

Check out https://www.allencampermfg.com/up-to-29'-travel-trailers Allen Campers.
Bought two truck campers from them back when truck campers were the choice for camping.....around here anywayz.
They have several floorplans in a 21' lengths.....3300-3500 lb dry weight.....5000 GVWR units. Some times its cheaper to buy a new unit than a used one. Run your numbers
