I was a mechanic for 17 years, I got to know my regulars pretty well plus I knew my service manager. I sometimes went to great lengths to make sure I didn't have a similar story to tell. I've killed fuel pumps, disconnected batteries, jacked up drive wheels.
But sometimes you just can't plan for what can happen during a quick fix either.
I often wonder how some of these folks have the brains to make enough money to have things like this.
Just curious, what did the bonehead have to say about his little mistake?

...Nearly 20 second long pause on the phone....
"Oh my God... Tell him I am so sorry..."

One year later, the rest of the story...
I found out earlier this week the guy that wanted to take me home with his 5er passed away. Now that I know more about what transpired earlier that day, I'm a LITTLE more sympathetic. Seems he had just left his oncologist's office after getting a 30 day notice. I'd probably not be thinking straight if I got that news myself, though if I did, I think my camper would probably be the last thing I'd be dealing with.
He succeeded in surviving nearly 9 months longer than the doctor originally told him. When I found out, I didn't know what to say, almost anything would seem callous. I opted for a quiet "I see."

Wow, I was about to say how funny this was to read even though I know it could not have been funny for you at the time.
Moral: If you don't go to the doctor, he can't tell you that you only have X months left. What the hey, nobody lives forever.

You work for a dealer ship...
I need a valve, specifically the dump valve for Power Gear jacks P/N 500910 I do not know the number for the valve.
Unlike most Power gear systems this valve is not the same as the leg valves, However, that may only be a cosmetic difference (It is shorter so the plastic cap is shorter as well)
Unless, that is, you know how to fix 'em.
