Maintain My RV
Does anyone use Maintain My RV to keep track of regular maintenance? If so - I’d love to know what items you have on your list, and their frequency of maintenance.
I like the idea of getting regular reminders to do certain things but I’m not certain I know what all those things are! I don’t find the app particularly user friendly.
Any help to keep my RV in tip-top shape will be greatly appreciated.

Great question. Below are useful links. I maintain a schedule of what maintenance has to be performed by what date, by whom (myself or rv mechanic) and cost (parts/labor).

A RV ranges from pop-up tent trailers, TTs, 5th wheel trailers, motor homes, truck campers/camper vans/etc.
Using a App or list needs to be specific to your type of RV.
I've never used a list of things to do or maintain on any of my RV trailers although I keep in mind there are interior things....exterior things to do pre trip and post trip.
Things like tires/suspension/hitch are checked well before each usage.

I looked for a paper log but most were more of a travel log with a little maintenance thrown in. I almost bought a boat maintenance book but didn’t like that I had to alter it forRV use. I thought about a spreadsheet, thought about a legal pad. Reason I didn’t do that was having to remember to bring it back and forth.
This lets me access it from anywhere long as I have internet access. I am starting to use it more. Like any database it takes more to set it up. I started with something simple and removed or added things as I learned. Then I customized it by making up some things. Can’t do it all in one sitting.
Latest was the generator had batteries by default. On my rig generator is started by chassis batteries. So removed that from generator and added a custom item under chassis.
The reports are nice. I can print out the overdue items or items due soon. If you try all upcoming it will be huge.
Once you finish the email notices are the best feature. Plus I use the fuel use and update the mileage. Do whatever works for you.

Once you have a list of all the maintenance items you want to do and when, enter them into a Google calendar. The items are entered once and then you set how often an item repeats (weekly/monthly/etc). Very easy to set custom repeat patterns too. You can also set reminders to pop up a day or two in advance of the maintenance item. I use this method for my home maintenace as I can never remember when to flush the hot water heater or change the filter on HVAC - a reminder pops up on my phone at the appropriate interval.

I have used it for years on a trailer and 2 motor homes. I absolutely love it. When I sold my motor home I printed off all the reports for the buyer who was totally impressed. I’m bringing our new TT home this week and I have it all set up. I also have my cars on it.

Congrats on your new TT! May it bring you many new and joyous memories.
I'm in NY also - Hudson Valley. Nice to meet a fellow New Yawker. ;-)
I like being organized. Since I also have a TT, I'm wondering if you would be willing to send by private message a copy of your Maintain My RV report? I'm looking for some pointers as to what to include, and on what timetable.
And if that's too personal, I completely understand and I'll follow the links that were so generously provided to me to create my own maintenance list.

I would send them to you but I erased everything when I sold my motor home. Now I have a blank slate. What I normally do is go through all the manuals and instructions. If something says I should perform some kind of maintenance, I add it. Even though there might not be any maintenance on an appliance or item I include them all so I have a handy record of what I have. The motor home had a lot of maintenance items bit the TT so far as very little.

All of the manuals are electronic and I've found them to be very minimal, although I've gleaned what I could. I keep everything well maintained each time I go out, which is frequently. What I feel I'm missing with regards to maintenance are mostly the outside things - exterior fiberglass, roof, tires, axles, brakes, propane tanks, batteries (I have lithium),slides, awning, stabilizer jacks, and safety things like fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, gas detectors.
Looks like I just made my own maintenance list! I'm not sure if I missed anything and I'm also not sure about the frequency of maintenance and what exactly should be done to maintain. I also think the water heater needs some regular maintenance (Anode rod?), and perhaps plumbing connections need to be regularly checked?
I've been given some good pointers in the responses to this thread. As soon as I can find a bit of time I'll go through those suggestions and links and hopefully be able to create my own list of routine maintenance and transfer it to Maintain My RV.
If Maintain My RV had some of these routine items pre-populated, it would have saved me, and others, the need to figure it out. I realize that every class of RV has different needs, as well as many that overlap. I'd love to see more detail on the Maintain My RV app, perhaps targeted to each class of RV. It would be more useful to me and I wouldn't be fretting that I'm overlooking something.
Thanks to all who responded!

I have been using Simply Auto: Car maintenance and Mileage Tracker app multi-user for a year now, excellent if you enter each fill up as you see all approaching maintenance. At $5.00 for lifetime (I see it showing 9.99 now - I purchased in Mexico in pesos, maybe it is per country prosperity or price has gone up), per user it is pretty good. They do prevent printing out at that price but once you have that one a version providing print outs is around 25.00 for life with discounts around Christmas, maybe other times.Caution, until I purchased the Gold version the only Platinum version was per year, once I owned the Gold version an option was available to by Platinum for Life.
Unfortunately they do not as yet have prefilled lists so I did have to take my owners manual maintenance guides and add the items to each vehicle. Also I found I could add my house and business, like a vehicle using time between service for scheduling or if you want to use the miles portion to enter mileage as year-month-day.
The above lets me keep all the maintenance on the phone for vehicles, lawnmower(s), Snowblower, Generator, House (Furnace filter & motor maintenance, air conditioning. The price is per user so 2 phones would be 2 users, I was not so thrilled with the multi-user aspect as it puts all on each phone, that could be good with a spouse but not so good for a business if you wanted an employee or manager to enter the details like safety light inspection monthly and maybe have them accidently delete your list. Though its also using a Google Cloud backup so maybe I just worry a bit too much. As a single use system it rates 5 stars, multi-use I am not so sure.
Aside from that I also added my vehicle to https://www.carfax.ca/Service/ as I do much of my own maintenance and this might bring up a recall notice. I assume you may need to change .ca to .com for U.S.

Glad it helped, one final suggestion I learned the hard way. Once you get your list set up, print a hard copy in case the app or program pukes. Cheers!
