eagleguy, Welcome to the forum!! Lots of good information here.

You didn't mention what material the cabinet and door are made of.
This is the type of latch on all the cabinet doors and drawers in our rig:

We had this problem also and used a couple strips of black electrical tape. then last year we bought a new larger medicine cabinet that had a magnetic strip around the door it worked only when not moving, the door quite large and heavy is solid glass mirror. so to get away from the ugliness of the tape, we bought a couple magnetic door catches. they are quite powerful but due to the construction of our cabinet it was a pain in the a** along with several cuss words to get one of them installed due to the construction of our cabinet. it works good, BUT the door has popped open a time or two. so i'm going to install the second magnet that should cure the problem once and for all. google magnetic door catches, there are lots of them all different configurations.

My new camper (2025 Springdale 1750RD) came with just a framed mirror. I tried to buy the factory unit they used up till 24 before going to just a mirror but had no luck. I then bought a 16 x26 white plastic surface mount medicine cabinet from HD. Its seems its uses fake glass since it (the whole unit) are actually lighter than the frame mirror I removed. The new cabinet has a single magnet in the center of the door/cabinet and holds fine. I also know how campers bounce when driven. I was thinking something along the line of a Velcro safety strap as mentioned. I will post a photo to show soon.

My cabinets have door pulls that I added a rubber O ring to keep them closed on travel days. during the time we are using the TT the O ring hangs on the knob and is mostly unseen. DR

the velcro slides into the gap between wall and cabinet. On mine, it slides in easily.
