New owners of a Winnebago towable 2201 DS. We lifted the storage lid under the bed and it locked in place. Cannot find a way to release the (gas springs)? holding the storage area open. Any ideas?

We haven't gone far yet. Have spent only 4 nights in it so far. No problems so far and we like the quality that we have seen. The outdoor kitchen is very convenient. Love the awning because it is much more stable and lot longer than the one in our last trailer. Heating and air-conditioning work well and are not as noisy as our last trailer. Still noisy enough though.
Just got a Blue Ox weight and sway system to use with the Ram 1500. Short trip home but it worked well and had very little noise on turns as compared to the Equalizer.
