Finally got around to deleting the mousehole! Found the parts I needed at West Marine. Marine grade receptacle and cord. Need to paint the plate to match the TT, but works good.

I use stainless steel wool. It's hard to find, but worth it.

Steel wool is fine, but it doesn't block the airflow through the hole, and probably the army of ants that like to travel power cords! LOL! Also the marine cord is longer, so I don't have to use an extension on sites that were poorly designed.
Steel wool is fine until it rains then it rusts real quick. The “mouse hole” is what they use to save money. They don’t really care if you have a pest problem. Another example of a problem we have to fix because the companies are so cheap.
