Murphy bed only comfortable on half - advice?

Hello,

I recently purchased a TT with a murphy bed. The space savings is great. There is one problem with it, however, that I didn't consider until sleeping in it. When lying flat in sleep mode, half the mattress lies on the sofa that is flattened underneath the mattress. The other half of the mattress sits right on the ply wood base underneath. Needless to say, the half that's on the sofa is great. The other half is horribly uncomfortable.

I don't need to replace the whole mattress, yet. I just need to figure out what to put under the ply wood side to make it comfortable.

Again, I'm not looking to replace the whole mattress yet, just add something to the plywood side.

Anyone dealt with this or have any suggestions for what would work as not a mattress topper but a mattress base that goes underneath the plywood side?

You can try cutting yourself a piece of memory foam and sticking it under that side of the mattress, or both sides maybe, so they're more even in feel.

You might also try putting a gel mattress topper on top of the mattress That worked for us

Maybe a Froli system would work. Individual springlike pieces that snap together in any shape, size, or configuration. The pieces have more than one firmness setting, too. As an added advantage, they should provide ventilation and help prevent condensation from forming under the mattress.
