Question Need new speakers

My 15 year old outdoor speakers have quit working and Iam thinking on replacing them.
Could use some recommendations on which 6-7 inch round speakers to consider for volume and longevity.
Any and all advice and experiences welcome.
Thanx,
Joe

JL Audio makes a very good marine grade product. Their gear is designed for continuous outdoor exposure. I replaced the outdoor speakers on our boat with JLs about 5 years ago and our RV about three years ago. So far, so good.

The depth is going to be your biggest issue. I prefer a small Bose, or Sony hand held speakers. Better sound, without spreading it across the campground.

Thanks for that info guys.
I have deep cutouts already so speaker depth is not an issue.

I just bought a set of Kicker speakers on Amazon. They are the 45KM604WL 6.5 inch. Should be an easy retrofit.

FWIW...I boon dock 95% of the time so bothering others isn't usually a problem. And I don't use them in an RV park. Stay Safe Out There, Joe

I was going to suggest looking at Crutchfield; they carry everything including outdoor/marine speakers.

Do you guys who have done replacements notice a big improvement over the stock ones? My trailer is a newer Keystone and if the speakers are like everything else, they are the cheapest thing they can bolt up that produces sound. There is nothing wrong with mine but I'd gladly spend a couple bucks and upgrade if it's worth it.

I installed a Kenwood DDX6904S that I pulled out of my F350 when I traded it in to replace the craptastic Furrion "entertainment center" that came in our Outdoors RV 24RLS.
https://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/excelon/ddx6904s/
Huge improvement is a gross understatement. It has DVD, Bluetooth, Satellite/ HD radio, USB, Navigation etc. Not to mention 50 watts of power vs the Furrions 12ish. Sound quality is amazing.
I then upgraded the interior speakers to JBL 522's and the exterior to Fusion Marine speakers (cant recall the model offhand).
Again, huge improvement is a gross understatement.

It is well worth the time and investment if you enjoy music. The OE entertainment and speaker systems are capable of producing noise that resembles music, that's all they are capable of.

As mentioned Crutchfield is a great resource for your sound needs and the staff is quite helpful guiding you to affordable solutions for RV's.
