New Rig

We’ve downsized from our Class A Discovery 40G (a beautiful rig and we’ll miss it) to this 2021 Jayco 212 QBW. We are still working and schedules really had cut into our RV time and the bus was just too costly to keep for the amount of use we could get out of it. This Jayco has all the the features we think we need for weekend trips to Disney and the Beach and will still be big enough for a week long vacation. So far our Durango seems fine to pull it (I have several discussions going on in the towing forum) but I doubt I’d want to tackle mountains or cross country trips. First outing is this weekend so we’ll see how it goes.

Congrats on your 2021 Jayco 212 QBW. Take a look at the 'Jayco Owners Forum' too. We recently downsized from a 37' 5th wheel to a 22' TT and don't miss the extra space at all and can get into more places easier.

Nice, and it fits on the driveway. It is no Fleetwood Discovery but it will be amazingly comfortable. I was amazed after staying in my travel trailer how comfortable they can be.

Enjoy the new travel trailer[emoji106]

Oh, I failed to mention be careful not to back into the house. Don't ask me how I know that.

I'll send a pic of my gutter scar from one of my previous rigs. Trust me, I know!

We might miss the washer/dryer. I never thought we'd use those much until we had them.

The trailer looks amazing! If it has everything you need, then you should not wish for more. Although of course we always want more, but often we cannot afford it for one reason or another. Therefore, you need to enjoy what you have and strive for more.

A Washer and Dryer are nice. I liked to use the dryer after using the pool at the RV Park to dry the damp towel.

I just camped in my 25' travel trailer and had to use a laundromat. It really was not that bad as it was in a strip mall with other stores around to browse in.

Backing into things - pay attention to work truck tail gates. 50% are dented.

I wish for more time to RV (Still working). I wish I could book a campsite wherever I want, whenever I want (my daughter is wishing for a pony). But we're happy.

Great desire. But in our time, like: either you do what you want, or you provide for your family. Well, it happens that you can combine - and earn good, and spend time with your family. But you need to strive for this, look for job options, it is possible to change your profession. It’s not easy and it’s a lot of stress.

Well I made it 50 miles to Tomoka. Ride wasn’t too bad. Definitely know the trailer is there. I’m not sure I have the WD hitch set up right. I think I need to drop it one hole. Did 65 the whole way. I did have to get it up a bit higher to pass some people doing 55 in a 70, but for the most part I took it slow. Definitely know when truck go by. Also, the winds were light. I was really sweating the thought of backing this in by myself into what on paper looked like a small site. But it was actually pretty easy and did it in one swipe just getting out once or twice to make sure I was not going to clip a tree. I was a bit concerned if the AC would keep it cool, but it seems to do fine. It seems like it cycles on and off a lot more than I remeber with the motor home.
I’d forgotten about keeping that coquina sand out. Forgot to get a rug. Thank goodness for those harbor freight moving blankets!Click image for larger version
