Same here. I never disconnected to back up. I also did something most people would not approve of. I set my hitch weight on the 10,000-pound trailer so that I could just lift it a little myself, then added a tiny bit more weight. Never had a problem. The motorhome is a big wind breaker for the trailer. My only incident was when I had to turn around through a big ditch at night in the Californa desert. The top of the trailer knocked a hole in the top of my motorhome, which I didn't see until the next day. I advise against using one of those trailers that come to a diamond point in front. Going through a dip in a straight line could easily get your rig punctured.

I have a 24' Apex ultralight, 4800 Dry. I bought it in Iowa and towed it 700 miles home With a Nissan Titan (like your F150. The first day was windy (30+ and gusty) and I was all over the road. I had a properly set up WDH but no Anti sway. I knew I had to change something. I did a ton of research and ended up with a Husky Centerline TS WDH/W sway control built in. Under $300 on Amazon. It was easy to setup and solved all my sway issues. I feel comfortable driving 75 with the trailer now, not that I do much. Wind no issue to a certain point then I would just wait a day or 2 if it was gusting over 40. Before everyone jumps on me my tires are rated for it and the truck feels totally solid. I towed 6k miles in a year with the hitch and love it. ALL THE DIFFERENCE in the world!

Tires. I had the same problem with a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500. When I put load range E tires on it helped a bunch. The dry weight of my tt was 4780. I never did weigh it loaded, but I am sure it was at least 6000.

Is there someone nearby with a HD TV that could take your trailer for a test tow? That's cheaper than buying one. Separate the component parts to isolate the problem, then drill down from there.
To go a step further, tow another trailer of similar size with your truck. More data means better decisions.

Does toir Ford have factory tow package, or are you using aftermarket brake controller? Reason asking is that your Ford may have electronic sway turned on, but is missing the trailer control component.

Go through your dash menus and try setting off if already on, or vice versa. Basically the system works by applying brakes on rear axle on 1 side or other to counteract trailer sway. At least is how was explained to me. Apologies in advance if this was already mentioned and I missed it.

Never heard anyone add sand bags to reach proper tongue weight.

Without looking at a manual describe EXACTLY how you set up the equalizer bars.

Don't cheat and quote the manual.

I have other thoughts about your problem but will wait for your answer.

I had the same problem with my first travel trailer and bought the Hensley hitch. Problem solved. It!'s based on the principle of a trapazoid. 35psi would feel squirrelly to me without a trailer. I think it is funny how the OP complains but doesn't answer questions from people trying to help him.

When I bought my first travel trailer in 2009 I pulled it with a Chevy Suburban. My loaded tt was right at 6500. It was a nightmare to drive at highway speeds. A friend of mine loaned me his dually for a long trip we had planned. He came over and made sure I had it hitched up right. (No WD, just hitch on the ball). After returning from my trip I bought my own dually and never looked back. I know there are half and 3/4 ton trucks capable of handling a 6500lb tt but for me the dually is the only way to peace and comfort. And a WD hitch isn’t needed for a trailer that light.

Have you checked the trailer tire alignment?
Many are not correct from the factory.

We have a 2015 F-150 and were advised to disable truck anti-sway. It must be manually disabled every time you restart motor when towing. You should notice improvememt, we sure did.

I considered getting a similar FRICTION antisway bar. ETRAILER and manu says don't use it in the rain or other inclement weather. Maybe it screws with turning?
