I am not a fan of open range. I looked at them several years ago and thought they were no too good but they could have improved by now.
The ORV and Arctic Fox are two of the better trailers is my understanding. Built on their own heavier duty frame. Bigger holding tanks, better insulation, has shock absorbers and a good following and reviews from owners.
We had a 2014 Open Range Light 256BHS, before Jayco bought Highland. It was an excellent travel trailer. It had opposing slides and was very spacious. There was a single AC in the center but it was more than enough for the 30’ trailer. The heating was also more than adequate with return air in the bathroom and a sealed bottom. We had a few small issues but the dealer was very good at taking care of the issues. We hauled it from Colorado to North Carolina and then to Key West.
I sometimes wish we had kept it because our class A is nowhere near as good in extreme temperatures.
IMO Open Range are on par with everything else out there.
Every brand has models that are cheap or of higher quality of which it's hit or miss as to whether or not you'll get one with few to many problems.
It boils down to what you want or need in a TT.
I've had numerous problems with my 2019 ORV. Would I have had the same issues with an Open Range? I'll never know but I can guaranty I may or may not of. And thats the problem with the RV industry. No rhyme or reason as to whether you'll get a quality built RV regardless of how much you spend.
We had an Open Range Lite travel trailer prior to our current Jayco class C motorhome. It was well built and had good design features. Excellent CCC for the size of the unit. Quality of build much better than the Jayco MH. We had two problems. Failed water pump and defective awning fabric. Both were replaced quickly under warranty by the dealer.
