Hi All,
I'm new to this fourm and a recent new owner of my first 5th wheel. I have had RV's ranging from small travel trailers to a 35' Flxible bus conversion over the past 30 yrs but never had a 5th wheel. I purchased a 2003 Cougar 244 EFS by Keystone and pull it with a Nissan Titan.

I'm planning on mounting a 45 watt Harbor Freight Solar panel (3 panels) on the roof. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be helpful. Seems to me I'd want to secure it through the metal roof framing. Any Ideas on mounting these panels on a Cougar?

We used 1" screws to mount our 2 Kyocera 135 watt panels to the roof. 3 screws in each foot, 4 feet per panel. A generous amount of Dicor was used to seal it all.

Getting ready to mount a panel on the roof of our Montana, & found the studs with a STUD FINDER used to locate studs behind dry wall in homes.

Found this elsewhere on the Web, regarding mounting of solar panels:

If you are lucky enough to have this type of roof, you can install your solar panels almost anywhere on the roof since you have a solid base to screw the solar panel mounts into. This answers a big part of my concerns also thanks for the replies and tips. I will also use Dicor to make a good seal and prevent leaks.
