Hey everyone, we are starting a vinyl replacement project in a 2006 R-Vision travel trailer, and we are thinking while we have everything disassembled we could explore options to remove the booth seating and replace with a table and chairs. There are just a few small issues ;-) and I was hoping others could share some creative ideas so I can whiteboard this and find a solution. In the attached photos you can see what one of the benches is covering.

Any input is appreciated.

Thats going to be a tough one, but a question, do you ever use the on board fresh water tank? If not, the fill tube can be capped and deleted. The pump would go away too, but the city connection will requre bypassing, which if you have access underneath, can be done there. I assume the foil duct is heat?

Yes we use the tank quite a bit. We use state parks primarily and they mostly have only electric for the desirable sites. The foil duct is the heat.
We had asked the same question on a FB group and someone suggested building a cabinet with with something like drawers. This could be an option as the width height, and lenth could be customized for the space.

How about a compromise? Build a bench to go back over those things, you can likely more comfortable that what you took out. Then table with chairs on the opposite side.

Make a couch for that side and use a removable table or TV trays. Way more comfortable and still hides the equipment.

The pump and plumbing could be moved to underneath the floor, but if you camp in cold climates, it would not be a good option. Also the tank fill could be routed underneath, but would probably require stubbing up on the outside wall, but if you not familiar with plumbing, probably would not be a good alternative either.

I like the couch idea above best. I like the comprise next best. You could also build a platform that the table and chair sit on to cover that stuff. My U dinette is on slide, so that made me think of that. Looks like you'd either need to lower the fresh water fill or put a 90 on it and go into the platform immediately. You only see it a little if you did that. We use our table a lot for planning the next day (maps) or I'd replace my dinette with a couple of rockers. Having a very comfortable sitting area is high on my priority list. Hence the couch is my favorite.
